Glasses

Now there are 2 types of 3D TV glasses on the market today:

  • Passive 3D Glasses
  • Active 3D Glasses.

Most of us should only be concerned with Active 3d Glasses. Active glasses are glasses that work with a transmitter that is usually built into your 3D TV. That is why it is a good idea to pair your glasses brand with your 3D TV brand, although there are many great universal 3D glasses that are considerably cheaper.

Passive glasses use signals with two overlapping images and the glasses have polarized lenses. Each lens is made so that you can see only one of the two overlapping images. The worst part about this technology is that viewers will need to sit directly in front, or the sweet spot of the display to get the full 3D TV effect.
